Pakar logistik dari Singapura, Ramlee Ibrahim Phd CIRM CSCP, mengatakan, potensi bidang cargo shipment di Indonesia terhitung cerah namun terkendala oleh sulitnya mengurus pengiriman international cargo shipment yang dilakukan oleh investor. "Seperti pengiriman international shipment dari luar negeri, harus menunggu izin selama 40 hari hingga secara tidak langsung akan menambah biaya pengiriman international cargo," katanya menjelang acara seminar `Carrers in Logistics: Kegemilangan Prospek Kerja di Bidang Logistik`, di Kampus Universitas Widyatama, Bandung, Jumat.

Menurut dia, di negara lain, pengurusan air cargo shipment yang akan masuk melalui pelabuhan, hanya memerlukan waktu selama satu minggu saja. Ia mengatakan akibat lamanya pengurusan izin masuk air shipment itu, membuat biaya air cargonya melambung pasalnya cargo shipment tersebut harus tertahan di pelabuhan cukup lama. "Tertahannya cargo shipment di pelabuhan tersebut, secara tidak langsung memakan biaya international cargo shipment, seperti, jika mengirim buah-buahan maka harus menggunakan listrik untuk lampu dan menyalakan alat pendingin," katanya.

Dikatakannya, persoalan sulitnya untuk mendapatkan izin memasukkan international shipment atau produk international cargo ke Indonesia tersebut, harus diperbaiki agar tidak menghambat investor untuk menanamkan modalnya di Indonesia.

Kendati demikian, ia menilai jika Indonesia memiliki prospek yang cukup cerah untuk memperoleh investor seiring sikap pemerintahnya yang mendukung kehadiran investor tersebut. "Investor dari Jepang, Malaysia dan Singapura banyak yang tertarik untuk berinvestasi di Indonesia, setelah pemerintah Indonesia yang membuka ke arah sana," katanya.

Di bagian lain, ia mengatakan perkembangan bidang logistic air cargo shipment di Indonesia cukup bagus dibandingkan dengan Malaysia terlihat dari minat terhadap pelaksanaan kursus kelogistikan air shipment.

Dia memberikan contoh, pelatihan kelogistikan air cargo di Malaysia hanya dihadiri enam orang saja, padahal Pemerintah di sana memberikan biaya pendidikan cargo shipment yang gratis. "Sebaliknya dengan Indonesia, meski pesertanya harus membayar, namun pesertanya tetap banyak," katanya.(*)
